Wolfgang for Fornasarig Wins “Best of 2011– Selected by MD” Award
Wolfagang, presentata da Luca Nichetto e Fornasarig al Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2011 è stata insignita del premio “Best of – selected by MD” per la sua natura particolarmente innovativa nel mondo delle sedute di legno. Pur nascendo dal tentativo di coniugare le due classiche tipologie di lavorazione del legno austriaca e nordeuropea, che hanno in Michael Thonet e Hans J. Wegner i maggiori rappresentanti, Wolfgang sfrutta soluzioni tecniche nuove e raffinate. La rivista MD parla di doveroso rispetto nei confronti dei dettagli di giunzione del legno, particolarmente rilevanti dove le zampe incontrano la forcella, una grande U di legno curvato aperta nella parte posteriore, sulla quale si adagia la seduta come fosse un tessuto.
Luca Nichetto and Fornasarig presented Wolfgang at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2011 in Milan, and the design has been selected by MD for the “Best of 2011 – Selected by MD” award because of its particularly innovative nature in the field of wooden chairs. Although the chair’s design derives from the idea of combining the two traditional methods of woodworking employed in Austria and northern Europe whose most prominent representatives are Michael Thonet and Hans J. Wegner, Wolfgang also exploits new and refined technical solutions. MD magazine respectfully admired the details of the wooden joins in the chair’s design, particularly where the legs meet the fork, a large U-shaped piece of curved wood open toward the back on which the seat rests as if it were made of fabric.
